Sticky Apple Pinwheels

2 cups flour
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
100g butter
2/3 cup milk
1 Mill Orchard apple, grated
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
4 Tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup water

Sift flour, baking powder and salt, place in food processor. Add sugar and butter and process until butter finely chopped. Pulsing the processor, add enough of the milk to the mixture to make a soft dough, remove and roll out to a 20cm x 30cm oblong. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of dough and add the grated apple over this. Roll up from the shorter side of the dough and cut into 3cm slices. Place the cut side down into a greased baking dish.
Syrup: Bring to boil the sugar, water and maple syrup. Pour syrup over pinwheels and cook at 200oC for 30 minutes or until golden.
